The Europa Protoharmonic Symphony Orchestra

The Europa Protoharmonic Symphony Orchestra is the premier municipal ensemble on Jupiter’s 6th moon. Founded in 1962 (only 15 years after Europa’s first colony was established), EPSO was an effort of forward-thinking colonists who maintained that fine arts would help to stabilize the mental health of their struggling population. This hope was manifested in a modern municipal orchestra who created electronic instruments from the circuits of abandoned transport pods, and would eventually grow to 200+ members, with audiences of 10,000+, the largest musical force of any of Jupiter’s colonies to date. With its 60th anniversary approaching, EPSO and the Europa colonists are making the orchestra’s earliest recordings available, remastered, to their former home planet of Earth for the first time.
